XStream Angler
The Game and Fish Department's XStream Angler program showcases some of the state's most important streams and the ongoing work to protect the water that keeps them flowing. Created to inspire exploration, the XStream Angler program invites recreators to seek out the popular and lesser-traveled streams where instream flow water rights have been secured over the past quarter century to protect fisheries.
The list of protected streams continues to grow each year. Whether you've never fished a stream or you’re a die-hard angler, there’s never been a better reason to discover these XStream places.
How to become an XStream Angler
Visit stream sections with instream flow protections, snap a photo of yourself in or near the water, and submit your entries to celebrate your achievements and win prizes!
The XStream Angler program has recently been refreshed with new updates and improvements. Anyone who applied before March 1, 2026 will need to revisit or explore new streams and submit a new application to participate in the updated program.

Who?
Open to everyone who enjoys visiting streams. Catching a fish is encouraged but not required!
How?
Submit a clear photo of yourself in or near the stream. You can find streams with instream flow water rights applications in the map below.
When?
There are no time constraints on completing each level of XStream Angler. It may be completed over a lifetime or in a day.
Any applicants who applied to the program before March 1, 2026 must start over.
Limitations
Applicants need to have a current Wyoming fishing license to apply.
Entries
Each entry must be in a different stream.
