From the upper extent of the YCT population to ~0.4 miles below the boundary between BLM and USFS.
Take state highway 31 to Hyattville, but just before reaching Hyattville, at the sharp right curve, take a left instead to Alkali Rd (county road 228). Take this for about 22 miles where the Alkali Rd dead ends at Forest Road 17. Take a right and travel about 4.5 miles (over both Mill Ck and the Dry Fork Medicine Lodge Ck) to Forest Rd 329 on the right. Take an ATV or hike from here; you won’t be able to drive a vehicle any further. Follow 329 down to the creek (about 1.5 miles to the instream flow study site). Alternatively, you can turn onto Forest Rd 329 about 1.7 miles from the junction of the Alkali Rd and Forest Rd 17, but you’ll probably need to hike from there since there was road damage in 2011 that would prevent access with an ATV.
