Game and Fish lifts voluntary catch and release closures around the state
CHEYENNE — The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has lifted multiple voluntary catch and release fishing closures around the state effective immediately. Game and Fish staff have continuously monitored stream conditions since the closures were announced. Recent cooler weather around the state has resulted in lower water temperatures across the state. Forecasts indicate a continuing cooling trend, eliminating the immediate stress on trout populations.
Not all voluntary catch and release fishing closures have been lifted. Visit https://wgfd.wyo.gov/fishing-boating/fishing-heat for a listing of impacted waters.
