As long as the drawing hasn’t closed yet, you can log in and choose the link to “View Your HMAs.” You can then select the blue “withdraw” link next to the “Application Status” label, and enter a new application.

Up to six people can apply for permission slips as a party. To add more members to your party, you simply need to have them type in your party ID number when they apply. You can find your party ID number by logging into the permission slip system, choosing “View Your HMAs”, and clicking on the blue “Successful” link next to the “Application Status” label below that HMA/permission slip.

Every hunter needs their own permission slip for access. You can apply for the permission slips with your license party, or create a new party when you apply for the access slip.

You may already have been entered in the drawing for that, or another similar permission slip. Be sure to check the link to “View Your HMAs” to see if there is an application in there you forgot about, or if someone from your license party applied for permission slips for the whole party. In most cases, once you apply for a limited permission slip, you will not be able to apply for another one in that hunt area.

The system is set up to focus on providing a good opportunity for as many hunters as possible over providing multiple opportunities for a fewer number of hunters. Even the majority of leftover slips will get picked up by someone needing a place to go.

Any permission slips left over are released on a first-come, first-serve basis at 8:00 AM the day the drawing results are supposed to be posted. You can see what is available to you by logging into the permission slip system and clicking on the “Apply for Permission Slips” tab, or see the quota that is leftover by clicking on the “First Come First Served Report” at the top of the HMA login screen (or clicking here).

After the drawing date, simply log back in and choose the link to “View Your HMAs.” Any permission slips successfully drawn will be available to print. Ones not drawn will have the permission slip link grayed out and will show “unsuccessful” beside the “permission status” label.

The permission slip applications typically open on the second Monday in July. A few have special opening dates during the hunting season. The website is typically updated shortly after July 1st each year and you can read specific information on each HMA’s application process and rules there.
