Pinedale - The Wyoming Game and Fish Department welcomes the public to a series of upcoming public meetings to discuss the current status of wildlife populations and proposed fall 2023 hunting seasons in the Jackson and Pinedale regions. Season-setting meetings are held each spring to present proposed license allocations, season-lengths and other proposals for the coming fall to hunters and the general public.

This year, prior to the regular season-setting meetings, there will be an information-sharing meeting in Etna specific to the Wyoming Range mule deer herd. Topics planned for discussion include herd population data and trends, hunter harvest surveys, habitat projects, and impacts to the population including predation. The meeting will include presentations with time for questions and discussion.

WY Range Mule Deer meeting:
Thursday, March 16 – Star Valley Community Center, Etna, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Jackson Region season-setting meetings
Tuesday, March 21 – 2023 season-setting open house, Thayne Town Hall from 5 to 8 p.m.

Written comments will be accepted through 5 p.m. March 29 online, at public meetings or by mailing: Wyoming Game and Fish Department, Regulations, 3030 Energy Lane, Casper, WY 82604.

Wildlife managers have the opportunity to revise season proposals based on public comment at that time.

Copies of the proposed regulations are available on the department website and at the address above in accordance with Chapter 1 Regulation Governing Access to Public Records.

Written comments will be presented to the Game and Fish Commission prior to their April 2023 meeting in Casper.
