Free Fishing Day June 4 and other fishing events for kids throughout month
Everyone can fish with no license for statewide Free Fishing Day on Saturday, June 4, 2016. Many Game and Fish Regional Offices are partnering with community organizations to hold events to help get people out fishing throughout the summer. Events currently scheduled include:

June 4 - Casper 21st Annual Kids' Fishing Day, Yesness Pond. Begins at 9 a.m.
June 4 - Cheyenne Summer Outdoor Slam, Curt Gowdy. Free entry to the park. Begins at10 a.m.
June 4-  Newcastle Kids Fishing Event, Black Elk Pond. Registration starts at 3:00 p.m.
June 4 - Jackson Kids Fishing Day, R Park. Registration starts at 10:30 a.m.
June 4 - Pinedale Kids Fishing Day, CCC Pond. Registration starts at 10 a.m.
June 4 - Cody Kids Fishing Day, Beck Lake.
June 4 - Basin Kids Fishing Day, Basin Waterplant Pond.
June 4 - Lander Kids Fishing Day, Luckey Pond. Starts at 8 a.m.
June 4 - Riverton Kids Fishing Day, Big Bend Kids Fishing Pond. Starts at 8 a.m.
June 11 - Dubois Kids Fishing Day, Scouts Pond. Begins at 9 a.m.
June 11 - Kemmerer Kids Fishing Day, Kemmerer Community Pond.
June 18 - Rock Springs Kids Fishing Day. Rock Springs Pond. Begins at 9 a.m.
June 18 - Green River Take a Kid Fishing Day.
June 25 - Evanston Kids Fishing Day, UP Ice Ponds. Registration starts at 7:45.
July 9 - Lovell Kids Fishing Day, Porcupine Ranger Station Pond.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own fishing rods, as possible. Some events will have limited equipment available.

Free Fishing Day on June 4 applies to all waters in Wyoming with the exception of Yellowstone National Park and the Wind River Indian Reservation, where special fishing licenses are required. All fishing regulations, such as creel and size limits, fishing hours, and stream closures, still apply.

Free fishing day was authorized in 2003 by the Wyoming Legislature and is held in conjunction with National Fishing and Boating Week. To learn about more events for Free Fishing Day and throughout the summer, contact the Regional Office near you.
