CHEYENNE — Celebrating the vital lands and waters that sustain our state's wildlife species, the October Wyoming Wildlife magazine is dedicated to habitat, and the electronic version is free to the public.

At 56 pages, the special edition provides eight more pages of content than regular monthly issues. The magazine brings together diverse perspectives spanning multiple habitats, with more than 30 Wyoming Game and Fish Department employees contributing.

“Habitat is such a big topic to cover,” said Tracie Binkerd, editor of Wyoming Wildlife. “It’s the foundation where wildlife lives, grows and thrives. So much of conservation is focused on maintaining healthy habitat and improving these areas when needed, so it felt like a natural fit and a great topic to explore for this year’s special issue.”

Written and visual content includes breakdowns of the main types of aquatic and terrestrial habitat throughout Wyoming, why those areas are important and the work Game and Fish does to maintain, preserve and improve these vital areas.
