RIVERTON, Wyo. — The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is pleased to announce the appointment of Brady Frude as the new game warden for the North Riverton district. Frude, a veteran warden with extensive experience across Wyoming, has assumed his new duties and looks forward to serving the local community.
Wyoming game wardens serve on the front lines of conservation and are responsible for a wide variety of essential duties. These include wildlife law enforcement, public education, resolving human-wildlife conflicts, mitigating agricultural damage, collecting biological data, and implementing local wildlife management strategies. They work closely with hunters, anglers, landowners, and outdoor enthusiasts to protect the state’s natural resources.
Frude brings a wealth of education and field experience to the North Riverton District. A native of Laramie, he graduated from Casper College with associate degrees in biology and wildlife management in 2004 and 2005, respectively. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Wyoming in 2006.
His wildlife career began out of state with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW), where he worked as a wildlife technician on a bighorn sheep project in Hell’s Canyon. During his time with ODFW, he also served as a habitat technician improving bighorn sheep and mule deer habitats along the Lower Deschutes River, and as a wildlife area technician feeding wintering elk and black-tailed deer on the White River Wildlife Area.
Frude began his career with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department in 2009 as a fisheries technician in the Casper Region. After completing the 13-week Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy to become a certified peace officer, he officially began his career as a game warden in August 2010. Frude was promoted to the West Rawlins district in 2011 and transferred to the Lander district in 2015, and Recruitment and Retention Supervisor in 2022.
Frude expressed his enthusiasm for his new assignment in Fremont County.
“Having called Fremont County home for years, I am genuinely excited to step back into a direct field role as the North Riverton Game Warden,” Frude said. “There is nothing quite like being out in the field every day, working hands-on with our landowners, hunters, anglers, and local residents. The North Riverton district offers incredible wildlife resources, and I look forward to serving this community directly out on the ground.”
