Wyoming Game and Fish Commission approves purchase of property in Goshen County
Landscape of Table Mountain Wildlife Habitat Management Area

CHEYENNE — The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission approved the acquisition of a 370 acre property in Goshen County adjacent to the Table Mountain Wildlife Habitat Management Area on Friday during a special meeting.

“The acquisition of this property will help enhance the Table Mountain WHMA for public use and continue to be available for agricultural production in that area,” said Sean Bibbey, Services Division Chief, “It will also provide an opportunity for Game and Fish to continue critical habitat projects in the area.”

The property is located off of County Road 55, adjacent to the southeastern portion of the Table Mountain WHMA, and will be included in the WHMA. The parcel includes  84 acres of associated water rights and will expand and enhance wildlife habitat and allow increased hunting opportunities for the sporting public.

The Table Mountain WHMA is managed cooperatively with the Bureau of Land Management. The unit provides year-round recreation access for activities like hunting, trapping, camping, hiking and wildlife viewing, and is closed to motor vehicle traffic from Oct. 1-May 16.
