Wheatland Volunteer Day: Reservoir Clean Up
Community invited to help clean up Wheatland Reservoir #1 on April 27
Wheatland – Community members are invited to roll up their sleeves and give back during the 2026 Wheatland Reservoir #1 Clean-Up Day on April 27.
Volunteers will help remove windblown trash, litter, fishing line and other debris from around the reservoir to improve habitat, water quality and the overall recreation experience. This event is hosted by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department in partnership with the Wheatland Irrigation District.
The clean-up will be from 9 am to 12 pm on April 27. Those who are interested must sign-up as a volunteer on the Game and Fish website. More details and sign-up instructions are available on the Volunteer Project page.
Trash bags will be provided, and staff will collect all filled bags. Basic hand tools and first aid kits will be available at each cleanup area.
Volunteers are encouraged to come prepared with gloves, weather-appropriate clothing, sunscreen or bug spray, and to bring their own water, snacks and lunch. Participants will also need to provide their own transportation to and from the site.
This event is open to the public and is a great opportunity to make a visible difference while enjoying time outdoors.
