CASPER-Dust off the tackle boxes and find those lucky hats! The City of Casper, in partnership with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, the Community Recreation Foundation, Wyoming State Parks and the North Platte Walleyes Unlimited, is thrilled to announce the return of the Yesness Pond Annual Kids’ Fishing Day.
On Saturday, June 6, 2026, Yesness Pond will transform into a hub of splashing trout and high-fives as young anglers from across the community gather for a day of outdoor adventure. The event coincides with Wyoming’s “Free Fishing Day,” meaning no licenses are required for the day, making it the perfect opportunity for families to get hooked on a new hobby.

Peden’s Shirt Shop has donated prizes along with Wagner’s Outdoor Outfitters, Grey Reef Trout Unlimited, Casper Recreation Division, Pepsi, Target, R&R Rest Stops, Walmart, Wyld Gear, Pepsi, Curly Wolf Den, Natrona County Health Department and more!
“Kids’ Fishing Day is a Casper tradition that bridges the gap between the living room and the great outdoors,” says Chad Green the Casper Ice Arena - Recreation Supervisor. “There is nothing quite like the look on a child’s face when they feel that first tug on the line. We want to keep that spark alive for the next generation of Wyoming anglers.”
What to Bring
Families are also reminded to bring sunscreen, chairs, and plenty of water to stay hydrated. Community sponsors will provide all the bait and tackle as well as sunscreen and water for kids and families.
