New Buffalo district wildlife biologist
Brady Roberts

Brady Roberts began duties as the Wyoming Game and Fish Department’s Buffalo wildlife biologist on Sept. 1.

Roberts graduated in May 2022 from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Ecology and Management. Immediately after graduation, he took a position with Game and Fish in Greybull as a damage technician where he assisted other regional personnel with evaluating crop damage, working big game check stations, signing Access Yes program properties, responding to urban and injured wildlife calls and other duties.

In 2023, he accepted a position in Sydney, Nebraska as a private land wildlife biologist, where he administered access and habitat programs, including working with private landowners to implement the Conservation Reserve Program.

He returned to Wyoming in 2023 and worked in the large carnivore section in the Jackson Region, responding to large carnivore conflicts, investigating livestock damage reports, and assisting with wolf, mountain lion and black bear management.

In 2024, he worked in the Laramie Region as a damage technician specializing in working with landowners to address elk damage on private property. That May, he was hired as the wildlife specialist in the Sheridan Region. Job duties in this position have included addressing big and trophy game damage, responding to urban and injured wildlife calls, assisting regional personnel with management actions, addressing large carnivore conflicts, working with landowners to minimize wildlife conflicts and more.

“I am excited to start this new opportunity,” said Roberts. “The Buffalo area has an incredible wildlife resource and in my time as the wildlife specialist, I’ve met many hunters and landowners supporting that resource. I look forward to continuing to build those relationships, as well as those with the local game wardens and other regional personnel.”

Roberts replaces Zach Turnbull who transferred to the Pinedale wildlife biologist position.
