CODY– After 37 years of service with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, Dean Follett, superintendent of the Clarks Fork Fish Hatchery, has retired. 

Follett began his career with Game and Fish in 1989, working as a seasonal fisheries biologist in Lander, an elk feeder in Big Piney, and as an enforcement aide in Laramie before finding his niche working in fish hatcheries.

Since 1990, Follett’s tenure spanned various fish rearing stations and hatchery facilities throughout the state, including Como Bluff, Wigwam and Speas. In 2014, Follett transferred to Clarks Fork Fish Hatchery and was promoted to hatchery superintendent in 2019. 

“Dean has been both a passionate and dedicated employee to the department and resource,” said Chief of Fisheries, Alan Osterland. “For nearly four decades, Dean has produced high quality sport fish for anglers to enjoy. He has certainly left a mark on Wyoming's fisheries management."
