GREEN RIVER — After 26 years of dedicated customer service, Green River Office Manager Sheila Deinhardt is retiring from the Wyoming Game and Fish Department. Throughout her career, Deinhardt witnessed the Green River Region and the department undergo many changes, including taking on responsibility for watercraft registrations, implementing the Aquatic Invasive Species program, transitioning from handwritten to electronic hunting and fishing licenses and annual regulatory and policy changes. Deinhardt was committed to clearly communicating information to the public and became known as a go-to source for all things Game and Fish related.

Beyond her service to the public, Deinhardt also supported field staff. She regularly assisted with hunter education, fish-netting and special events throughout the region. This support often meant sacrificing nights and weekends. Deinhardt’s contributions were not limited to southwest Wyoming. She traveled throughout the state to provide customer service at the front desk in other regions and to support events such as the Antler Auction in Jackson and the Springer Special Pheasant hunt in eastern Wyoming.

Behind the scenes, Deinhardt managed facility maintenance and upkeep, coordinated major office renovations, organized birthday celebrations and countless holiday parties, and added touches of festivity wherever she could. Throughout her tenure, Deinhardt received a Peer Recognition Award, Team of the Year Award from Game and Fish, and a certificate of appreciation from the Game Warden’s Association.

Deinhardt intends to embrace full-time Grandma status upon her retirement and will continue to celebrate with family and friends as often as possible. She invites friends, customers and colleagues to join her retirement celebration from 3-6 p.m. April 11 at the Red Feather, 211 East Flaming Gorge Way, Green River.
