GREEN RIVER — The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is partnering with the Muley Fanatic Foundation to host Mule Deer Days March 13-15 at the Sweetwater Events Complex in Rock Springs. The event is free and open to the public. Game and Fish staff will be on hand to provide information and offer activities for youth participants. Outdoor and sporting goods vendors have also partnered with the Muley Fanatic Foundation for this event.
Since 2023, Mule Deer Days has brought conservationists together in southwest Wyoming to learn about the state’s mule deer herds and raise funds that have an on-the-ground impact on mule deer, improving habitat through invasive species removal and funding wildlife crossing projects. Each year, 70% the funds are allocated by a volunteer committee that judiciously selects projects throughout Wyoming that benefit mule deer.
During the event, informational seminars will highlight critical topics facing wildlife managers. The morning of March 14, Game and Fish Director Angi Bruce will discuss mule deer conservation strategies and field questions on Game and Fish’s priorities throughout the state. The presentation will be followed by a panel on chronic wasting disease and mule deer conservation featuring representatives from Game and Fish alongside Cody Robbins, host of the Live2Hunt show.
Information and entertainment aren’t the only benefits of attending. Each day, attendees will have a chance to win KUIU gear in a free raffle. Special youth raffles will be held for rifles, and four Wyoming lifetime game bird, small game, fishing and conservation combination licenses will be raffled. To qualify for a lifetime license, youth must have 10 years of continuous residency in Wyoming, per state law, and apply in person during the event. Youth raffles are open to ages 0-15.
