Classification Surveys

Casper Region wildlife biologists and game wardens started their annual classification surveys of deer in late November.  Right now they are flying different areas across the region to count the number of deer and then classify whether they are doe, fawn, or different ages of bucks.  This is just a piece of the puzzle that biologists use to estimate population growth or decline, which contributes to decisions about future hunting seasons.  Stay tuned for an update as classifications continue into December.
