Access Yes Walk-In Hunting and Walk-In Fishing Areas near Dave Johnston Power Plant close

The Wyoming Game and Fish would like to remind sportsmen to check the Game and Fish website for the most recent information on lands enrolled in the Access Yes program.   Walk-In Hunting and Walk-In Fishing Areas near Dave Johnston Power Plant have recently closed.

“This time of year is a great time to review the website for updates that may have occurred in 2018.   We recently had to close Walk-In Hunting Area Converse County 2 and Walk-In Fishing Area North Platte 25 which are popular for sportsmen, specifically waterfowl hunters,” said Matt Withroder, regional Access Yes coordinator for Game and Fish.  “This will allow the landowner time to treat invasive grass species and monitor for re-growth in the area.”

The Walk-In Hunting Converse County Area 2 provided approximately 510 acres of access, and the Walk-In Fishing Area had 2.6 stream miles and 17 pond acres.  The area has been posted with closed signs.
For any questions on these closures or other Access Yes lands, please contact Matt Withroder at 307-473-3400 for additional information.
