On the grounds of the Dan Speas Fish Hatchery, The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission maintain access to nearly 2/3-mile of river for fishing. The river provides quality fishing year-round for rainbow and brown trout. Due to concerns about potential contamination from New Zealand mud snails, recently, the Department built a fence around Jessica’s Pond. From the parking area, anglers can access either the pond or the North Platte River. We ask all anglers to clean and dry all gear before going back and forth between the two areas. Leashed pets are welcome in the river portion of Wyoming Flycasters Memorial; however, we do not allow dogs or pets inside the fenced area of Jessica’s Pond. No hunting, trapping, camping, or fires allowed. WGFD does not plow the parking area in the winter.
