January Commission meeting held in Cheyenne, public comment welcomed
The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission will meet January 27-29, 2016. The first day will involve an off-site tour followed by meetings at the Cheyenne Headquarters at 5400 Bishop Boulevard, Cheyenne, Wyoming. The Commission will continue discussions from the November meeting on a strategy for conserving big game migration corridors, meet jointly with the Board of Agriculture and discuss several other important topics.
The Game and Fish Commission will engage in a joint meeting with representatives from the Wyoming Board of Agriculture, and the Wyoming Department of Agriculture to discuss brucellosis surveillance in the Bighorn Mountains; the Joint Access Recognition Program; 2015 Private Lands Public Wildlife Program Landowner survey results; respiratory disease in Bighorn Sheep, and respiratory disease surveillance in Wyoming’s bighorn sheep.
Other agenda topics at the January Commission meeting include: volunteer projects, sensitive species conservation, impact of big game licenses, chronic wasting disease, grizzly bear populations, Chapter 32 Firearm Cartridges and Archery Equipment, and other topics.
Public comment periods for the public feedback are on Jan. 28-29 at 5 p.m. and 2:20 p.m., respectively. The meeting will also be live-streamed on the Internet. Learn more and watch here.
On the Jan. 27 the Commission will tour the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Repository in Denver. This tour is an open session and is open to members of the public. The general public will need to provide their own transportation and lunch.
