Besides being a great investment in Wyoming’s wildlife, conservation plates make a great holiday gift.

Anyone on your shopping list would be proud to display this attractive license plate that features a photo of Wyoming’s iconic mule deer.  Additionally, license plate holders are eligible for discounts on hunting and fishing gear; ORV parts and services; firearms, coffee, and much more from 44 Wyoming businesses and can also win a Weatherby Mark V 6.5 WBY Cowpoke Edition rifle. These benefits have been provided to meet Gov. Mark Gordon’s challenge to put 2,020 wildlife conservation plates on the road by the end of the year. Currently about 1,910 plates have been sold.

Each year, more than 6,000 big game animals in Wyoming are killed by vehicle collisions.  Proceeds from the sales of wildlife conservation plates fund roadway safety projects like overpasses, underpasses, fencing and signage. Over- and underpasses, placed in the right area, can reduce collisions by up to 90 percent. Allowing free movement to seasonal habitats is critical to the long-term health of Wyoming big game herds.

The total initial price of the plate is $180 and a $50 renewal fee annually. The plate is available anytime - not just with renewals. Information on how to purchase the Wildlife Conservation License Plate is on the WYDOT website.

Make your sportsperson happy with a stellar gift and support wildlife and roadway safety by adding a Wyoming wildlife conservation plate to your shopping list.
