Good question, and thanks for confirming the boundaries before heading out shed antler hunting. The Great Divide Basin is the area within the closed basin of the Continental Divide. It is a located approximately between Rawlins and Superior, and Wamsutter to roughly the Sweetwater/Fremont County, line as shown in the picture below. The best way to determine land status is to use the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Surface Management Status maps(Red Desert Basin, Rock Springs, and South Pass), which are available through the BLM Wyoming.

Wyoming’s shed antler law prohibits the collection of shed antlers and horns from January 1 through April 30 on public lands west of the Continental Divide, excluding the Great Divide Basin. State lands are also included. The restriction has been in place since 2009 to protect wintering big game.
