Sheridan Region AIS watercraft check stations open with summer hours

AIS watercraft inspection stations are operating with expanded summer hours in the Sheridan Region. Remember from March 1 through Nov. 30, all watercraft entering Wyoming must be inspected prior to launching. Watercraft operators must also stop whenever they encounter an open check station on their route of travel.

Check station locations include:

Sheridan Travel and Tourism Center on 5th Street in Sheridan - Open 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. Open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.

Northeast Wyoming Welcome Center near Beulah (exit 199 on I-90) - Open 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

Behind the Gateway Travel Center in Newcastle at the corner of Highways 85 and 16 - Open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily

Lake DeSmet and Keyhole Reservoir check station hours of operation vary. Keyhole typically operates 7 days a week and DeSmet Thursday -  Sunday. However, watercraft that have remained and only been used in Wyoming are able to launch if the check station is closed. Call the Sheridan Regional Office for specific information. Watercraft inspections outside of these hours can be obtained at other locations.

Please note: Check stations perform watercraft inspections but do not sell AIS decals. Decals can be purchased at license selling agents, at a regional office or through the Game and Fish website
