Pinedale Region welcomes new wildlife biologist

PINEDALE – The Pinedale Region of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department is pleased to announce the appointment of Zach Turnbull as the new wildlife biologist for the Pinedale Region. He officially assumed his role on September 1.

Originally from Creswell, Oregon, Turnbull brings valuable experience to this role. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Science from the University of Idaho and Oregon State University. His Game and Fish career began in the Pinedale Region in 2005 with the Large Carnivore Program, where he focused on managing grizzly bear and wolf depredation in the Upper Green River Valley. Most recently, he served as the senior wildlife biologist in Buffalo, a position he has held since 2021.

"Sublette County has amazing natural resources, diversity of wildlife, and wonderful communities," said Turnbull. "I'm thrilled to be back and look forward to my new role and responsibilities."

In his new position, Turnbull will oversee the management of wildlife in the Pinedale Region. He takes over from Dean Clause, who recently retired after a distinguished 35-year career with Game and Fish.
