Mountain lion successfully relocated

On the evening of July 15, 2026, at approximately 6:00 p.m., the Wyoming Game and Fish Department successfully and safely immobilized a 2-year-old male mountain lion in the Paradise Valley area of Casper. The young lion was reported in the neighborhood the night before, likely wandering into town along a natural travel corridor such as the North Platte River. Wildlife officials successfully relocated the mountain lion back into suitable habitat. Game and Fish expressed sincere gratitude to the public for promptly reporting the animal and staying aware of their surroundings, which allowed for a smooth, peaceful resolution for both the residents of Casper and the mountain lion.

Game and Fish would like to thank its partners at the Casper Police Department and the Natrona County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance.
