CODY— Following a significant reduction in fire activity from the Kane Fire, numerous roads on Yellowtail Wildlife Habitat Management Area that were previously closed have been reopened.

The burn area and its access roads will remain temporarily closed however while crews conduct hazardous tree removal. This includes Big Horn County Lane 8 ½ and other roads on the unit within the burn area.

Once this work has been completed, the remaining closures will be lifted. The public is requested to observe these temporary closures to facilitate efficient completion of the work and to ensure public safety.

Game and Fish will keep the Yellowtail WHMA webpage updated with current road closure information.
