CHEYENNE — The Wyoming Game and Fish Department, in partnership with Gov. Mark Gordon and the Wyoming Sportsmen’s Group, will host the 2026 Sportsperson’s Conservation Forum June 26 at the CAM-PLEX in Gillette.

Now in its third year, the forum serves as a collaborative platform for Wyoming’s hunting and fishing community to engage directly with state leadership on wildlife management and policy.

“We look forward to continuing this three-year tradition of bringing together Wyoming’s hunting and fishing community,” Game and Fish Director Angi Bruce said. “The collaborative dialogue at this event helps us better understand our state's needs, and ensures we are stewarding Wyoming’s wildlife in a way that truly benefits our stakeholders.”

Organizers moved the event to Gillette this year to ensure accessibility for participants across the state’s northeast corridor and beyond. The forum will utilize a mix of formal panels and interactive breakout sessions to maximize audience discussion.

The 2026 agenda includes the following featured panels:

  • Mule Deer Conservation Strategy: An overview of current management and recovery efforts, as well as Game and Fish’s new strategic approach.
  • Engagement and involvement: Guidance on how the public can effectively make its voices heard in the management process.
  • Effective policy making: An analysis of the components required to build durable and lasting conservation policy.
  • Landowner investments in conservation: A look at the role private landowners play in wildlife habitat and how sportspeople can foster better partnerships.
  • Public access: Perspectives on maintaining and expanding access to Wyoming's outdoors.
  • Wildland fire recovery: Lessons learned from recent fires and current strategies for prevention and habitat restoration.

Tickets for the forum are $25 and include lunch for a full-day event, and areavailable online through the Wyoming Game and Fish Department.
