Dr. Embere Hall, the Wyoming Game and Fish Department’s science research and analytical support unit supervisor, received the Ernest Thompson Seton Award from the Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies last week at its summer meeting in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.  This annual award honors efforts of a state agency and team leaders to raise public awareness of scientific wildlife management. 

Over the past four years, Hall led efforts to develop and implement Wyoming’s Mule Deer Monitoring Program. This state-of-the-art program tracked and monitored movements, survival, cause-specific mortality and habitat selection of more than 3,000 mule deer over large geographic areas across Wyoming. Hall was the driving force behind this entire program from inception to present day.

“Embere is easily one of the most engaging public speakers I have ever seen, a sentiment shared by her coworkers, colleagues and anybody afforded the opportunity to watch her present.” said Game and Fish Deputy Chief of Wildlife Justin Binfet. “She conveys complex technical information in a highly intelligent, yet readily digestible manner, and is extremely effective in reaching a diverse audience.”
