CHEYENNE — The Wyoming Hunger Initiative, led by First Lady Jennie Gordon, is holding its annual raffle for a Wyoming Game and Fish Commissioner License. Proceeds from the raffle will go towards the Food From the Field initiative.
Tickets are available for purchase through Feb. 19, and the winner will be announced Feb. 20. Tickets can be purchased online through the Wyoming Hunger Initiative. The winner will be able to take advantage of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to purchase a Wyoming deer, antelope or elk tag in any open unit with any legal weapon across the state.
Each year, Commissioner licenses are provided to nonprofit, charitable organizations for fundraising purposes. More information on this program can be found on the Game and Fish website.
Food From the Field enables hunters the opportunity to donate all or part of their harvest to participating local food processors, who package it for local organizations for distribution to communities. All deer, elk and moose undergo appropriate testing to ensure safety prior to entering the food bank system.
The Wyoming Hunger Initiative’s goal is to prevent food insecurity by increasing awareness and support for the work of local anti-hunger organizations statewide through innovative programs that connect like-minded organizations as well as funding support for local solutions.
