CODY- The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is offering a bowhunter education course in Cody June 28 and 29. Registration is open.
The class will take place at the Game and Fish Cody Regional office (2 Tilden Trail) from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. June 28 and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 29.
The course is recommended for both new and seasoned bowhunters who want to develop or further their bow hunting skills. Topics covered include hunter responsibility and ethics, wildlife conservation and management, archery equipment and archery safety, tree stand safety, Game and Fish statutes and regulations, game care, wildlife identification and outdoor safety.
A bowhunter education certificate is not required for individuals to bow hunt in Wyoming, but is mandatory if you are bowhunting in Montana, Idaho, Alaska, South Dakota or Nebraska. Hunters should be aware that a firearms-based hunter education certification is required in Wyoming when hunting with a firearm.
Game and Fish offers bowhunter education courses that meet the International Bowhunter Education Program standards and is accepted by other states that require bowhunter education.
