2027 conservation stamp to feature Arctic grayling
Arctic Grayling

CHEYENNE — The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is preparing to open the entry period for its 2027 Conservation Stamp Art Contest. The annual competition selects a winner whose artwork will be featured on the state’s annual conservation stamp.

The featured species for the 2027 contest is the Arctic grayling. The grayling is a distinctive native fish, recognizable by its large, sail-like dorsal fin. Its native population has declined sharply due to habitat loss, making it a focal point for the Game and Fish’s conservation and restoration efforts.

Professional entries will be accepted from Jan. 2-March 31, 20926. Submissions for student categories are open now and will close April 10, 2026. Complete rules and requirements are available on the Game and Fish’s Conservation Stamp Art webpage.

The winner of the 2026 Stamp Art Contest was announced as Michael Patrick Bailey of Newburgh, Indiana. His winning pika entry will be featured on the 2026  conservation stamp.
