Answer
After an animal is harvested, the hunter must sign the carcass coupon, detach it from the license and cut out the entire wedge for the day and month of the kill. The carcass coupon must be visibly attached to the animal. During transport, the properly completed carcass coupon may be removed to prevent loss but must be in the possession of the person transporting the carcass.

Answer
Hunters, anglers and trappers must have the proper license to take big game, trophy game, game birds, small game, furbearing animals or game fish. License holders may only take game specified on their licenses during seasons specified in the regulations.
-
Answer
Hunters must know the boundaries of their hunt area. BLM maps and GPS units with land status software are excellent tools. Talk to your local game warden or biologist if you have questions about hunt area boundaries. Don't be tempted to cross the boundary.

Answer
Big game and trophy game rifle and muzzleloader hunters must wear one exterior garment of fluorescent orange or fluorescent pink (hunter orange, blaze orange or pink). This also applies to archery hunters hunting during the regular season. This could be a hat, shirt, jacket, coat, vest or sweater. Bird hunters on Game and Fish Habitat Management areas must wear hunter orange or pink. Fluorescent orange or fluorescent pink camouflage is legal.

Answer
Licensed hunters and anglers must purchase a conservation stamp to hunt and fish in Wyoming.; This requirement has some exemptions, so check the regulations to see if your license exempts you.
-
Answer
Shooting from a public road is dangerous and illegal. Hunters cannot shoot or attempt to kill any wildlife from or across any public road or highway. Hunters must be off the road and across the fence on a fenced public road or at least 30 feet from the edge of the road on an unfenced public road.

Answer
No person shall enter upon, travel through or return across the private property of any person to take wildlife, hunt, fish, collect antlers or horns, or trap without the permission of the owner or person in charge of the property. For purposes of this section, "travel through or return across" requires physically touching or driving on the surface of the private property. The license must bear the signature of the landowner, lessee or agent of the landowner on whose private property the person is accessing or other legitimate proof as evidence that permission to hunt has been granted.
-
Answer
If an animal is harvested in an area where the take of either sex is controlled, hunters must keep the head or a visible external sex organ while transporting the animal from the field. Hunters may only take the sex of animals specified by regulation for their license. Some hunt areas or licenses allow taking either sex. Be sure you know the area's regulations and your license.
-
AnswerOnly the individual issued a license or stamp may use that license or stamp to harvest the animal specified on the license.

Answer
No person born on or after January 1, 1966, may take any wildlife by using firearms on land other than that of his/her own family unless they possess and can exhibit a hunter safety card. All Grand Teton National Park hunters must possess a hunter safety certificate regardless of age. There are some exemptions to this requirement. Check the regulations for further information.
Field Operations
The life of a game warden is a 24-hour-a-day job, a full-time responsibility, and a very rewarding job.
Part of the job's attraction is never quite knowing what the day will hold-whether trapping bears, darting and transplanting moose, flying in a helipcopter to count bighorn sheep, getting a deer out of a resident's backyard, hazing 1,000 elk out of a rancher's field, talking to hunters, or catching poachers. They are wildlife biologists, wildlife law enforcement officers, wildlife educators, problem solvers, and ambassadors to landowners, hunters, anglers and communities throughout Wyoming. Wardens are considered the local "expert" when constituents want to find out what's going on with their wildlife and their department.
Wildlife Management/Data Collection & Analysis
Game wardens collect/summarize wildlife data from the ground and air to determine distribution, abundance, recruitment, hunter harvest, and mortality causes of wildlife. They also work with wildlife biologists and neighboring game wardens on hunting season strategies, recommendations, and sample wildlife for research and disease surveillance.
Enforcement of Game and Fish Laws and Regulations
Game wardens enforce/check compliance with hunting, fishing, trapping, watercraft statutes and regulations, littering and state land camping, open fires, and closed/off-road travel restrictions. They also write enforcement reports, attend court, work with other agencies, conduct investigations, collect intelligence, and carry and maintain law enforcement weapons and gear.
Injured and Nuisance Wildlife
Game wardens respond to and appropriately handle injured and nuisance wildlife calls which may require euthanization of wildlife. They also utilize immobilization or lethal techniques based on an evaluation of circumstances.
Watercraft Safety
Game wardens conduct watercraft safety and registration inspections along with HIN, VIN, and AIS inspections. They also enforce/check compliance with watercraft statutes and regulations and educate the public regarding safety.
