Baggs Mule Deer Migration

Baggs Mule Deer Migration Corridor

Wyoming is home to important mule deer and antelope migrations, including the Baggs Mule Deer Migration Corridor. For this herd, winter ranges span approximately 60 miles from northern Colorado into southern Wyoming, and summer ranges span from the state line to Rawlins. This migration corridor was formally recognized in 2018 by the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission through the Migration Corridor Strategy then formally designated by the Governor in the Migration Corridor Executive Order in 2020. The Governor's Baggs Mule Deer Migration Corridor Local Working Group provided many recommendations to the Department for conservation of this migration corridor which are contained within the Biological Risk and Opportunity Assessment. Wyoming is committed to conserving these vital movement areas, which help maintain populations by connecting seasonal ranges they depend on for sustainability.
