Green River Valley Cowbelles Honor G&F Biologist Zach Turnbull
Pinedale Large Carnivore Biologist Zach Turnbull was recently honored by the Green River Valley Cowbelles/Cattlewomen with their 2019 Friend of Agriculture award.

"Zach is wonderful to work with because he is so knowledgeable and hardworking," said Jonita Sommers, member of the Green River Valley Cowbelles. "He is very dedicated to his job. It doesn't matter when or how many times a day you call him, he comes in a timely manner. He wants what is best for the bear and the cattle.”

WY State Representative and member of the Green River Valley Cattlemen, Albert Sommers commented upon hearing of Zach's nomination for the award, “Good choice. Dedicated. He works 7 days a week and 20 hours a day at times. He is extremely dedicated.”

Bondurant Rancher Kevin Campbell, had these words to share about Zach: "I was pleased to learn that Zach had been chosen as this year’s Friend of Agriculture. Very deservent. Over the past several years I have worked with Zach a bunch dealing with the wolf predations we have had in our cattle. Have felt real fortunate to have him to work with. He is an expert and very professional at what he does plus very dedicated and hardworking. Blessed with more common sense than most people. Zach is a true asset and friend to the ranchers of Sublette County. He cares."

Wyoming Game and Fish Large Carnivore Supervisor Dan Thompson had this to add, "Zach possesses the rare trait of common sensibility, amazing field skills and the knowledge and expertise to be considered an expert in the field of large carnivore ecology, conservation and management. Zach has received multiple forms of recognition from the public, agency employees, commissioners and all walks of life while working for the Wyoming Game and Fish."

Zach has also been recognized with the 2015 Peer Recognition Award for the Game and Fish Pinedale Region and 2012 Team of the Year award for the Game & Fish's Large Carnivore Section. Zach began his Game and Fish career as the Pinedale Large Carnivore Biologist in December of 2005.
