More Fish For R Park!

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department pumped another 1100 Snake River Cutthroats into the kids fishing pond at R Park beteween Jackson and Wilson on Thursday (Sept 6) afternoon. It just so happened that the Game and Fish Department's hatchery in Dubois had an extra 1100 fish they were looking to offload at the end of the season and the R Park seemed like a good location. The fish that were just stocked were only 4-5 inches in length so they won't be catchable this year, but they will supplement a healthy population of nice-sized trout already there.
"It's not that the kids fishing pond at R Park is necessarily hurting on fish, but we figured of all the places we could put some fish, why not let the kids get to enjoy catching them," said Jackson Fish Biologist Clark Jonson. "Hopefully, some kids will get out and enjoy a little fall fishing here in the coming weeks."
