Fishing's Heating Up, Remember Your License

Late summer fishing in the Jackson Region is hard to beat. As always, the river fishing is heating up and late summer is typically a good time to get trout to come to the surface for a grasshopper or some other large, surface fly. But while the fishing has been great, South Jackson Game Warden Kyle Lash is also reporting that he has been encountering quite a few anglers who are fishing without a license. "I'm not sure why, but I have written more citations for fishing without a license this summer than any other since I've been here," said Lash, who has been the South Jackson Game Warden for the past five years. Other common violations he has come across include no personal flotation device, no AIS (Aquatic Invasive Species) sticker, no boater registration (for motor boats) and the occasional over limit on fish. "For the most part, people are playing by the rules and having a good time on the water, which is how we like it."
