Approximately 15 miles southwest of Glenrock, at the base of the Laramie Range, the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission hold an easement for an access road, parking area, and pedestrian fishing access to Deer Creek. The Deer Creek Canyon public access area provides access for fishing only along 3½- miles of Deer Creek in the rugged and spectacular Deer Creek Canyon. There are no comfort station facilities here. No hunting, trapping, camping, or fires allowed. Deer Creek Canyon Public Access Area is open year-round; however, the unimproved access road may necessitate accessing the area with a four-wheel drive vehicle. Snow and mud frequently make the access road impassable. WGFD does not plow the access road and parking area in the winter.
