Permissions Slips and Application Dates

Permission Slip Information: One permission slip is issued on a first-come, first-served basis for a 2-day block. Permission slips are valid for antelope, deer, small game, and game birds. Big Goose HMA permission slip holders can take any species listed in the Big Goose HMA Ranch Rules with a proper license and during the season for that species during their two-day permission slip period. For example, if a hunter has an antelope permission slip and also has a valid deer license for that area, the hunter could harvest a deer and an antelope during their two-day permission slip period. Hunting is allowed with Limited Range Weapons Only; see Ranch Rules for more information.

General Information

Big Goose Hunter Managment Area is open August 15 - May 31 for the take of Antelope, Deer, Game Birds, Small Game, and Turkey during the specific species season as published in the current Game and Fish Commission Regulations.

Take of any animal is allowed with Only Limited Range Weapons.

General HMA Information

Each hunter must possess an appropriate permission slip and vehicle pass for the time period and type(s) of animal they are hunting before entering the HMA.

Each Hunter Management Area has a unique set of ranch rules. It is the hunter’s responsibility to know, understand, and comply with the ranch rules in order to utilize the HMA. Failure to comply is a violation of Game and Fish Commission Regulations and may result in fines, the termination of access privileges, and/or other legal penalties. Hunters should abide by the ranch rules and respect the landowner and the land for continued access opportunities. Remember, we are guests on their property!
