Sage grouse policy and DDCT workshop dates announced for January
The State of Wyoming and federal land management agencies will be offering one-day workshops on sage grouse management policies and tools throughout the month of January. Those who may benefit from this opportunity include industry, consultants, and state and federal agency personnel who work on sage grouse related projects that require density and disturbance calculation tool (DDCT) analysis.

The morning portion of the workshops will provide updated information on implementation of the Governor’s Sage-Grouse Executive Order, the United States Forest Service Land and the Bureau of Land Management Sage Grouse Resource Management Plan Amendment. In the afternoon, the workshop will cover the use of the DDCT, a spatial web-based tool that calculates both the number of disruptive activities averaged per square mile and total surface disturbance within the DDCT assessment area.

The workshops are weather dependent.  If winter weather will likely impact travel, cancellations will be posted 24 hours in advance of the workshop on the Wyoming Game and Fish Department website. All trainings are from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Dates and locations include:
  • Rock Springs-January 19, 2016. Rock Springs, Western Wyoming Community College, Room RSC 1302.
  • Cheyenne-January 22, 2016. Location TBA.
  • Worland-January 26, 2016. Worland, Washakie Museum and Cultural Center.
