Game and Fish has great graduation gifts for the outdoor lover

Give the graduate in your life a present that stands out this spring. The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has unique ideas for the hunter, angler or wildlife lover. Browse our recommendations for the perfect gift to celebrate this major milestone.

For resident graduates, a lifetime fishing or small game/bird license guarantees easy access to enjoying the great Wyoming outdoors. Lifetime licenses are available for residents who have lived in Wyoming for at least 10 years. Separately, a resident lifetime fishing license is $302 and a small game/bird license is also $302. But, buying them together with a lifetime Conservation Stamp is a bargain at $662.50.

“There is no better gift - or deal - for a resident graduate. A lifetime license and Conservation Stamp figures to a large cost savings over a young grad’s life. It is truly the best gift for an outdoor lover,” said Jennifer Doering, Game and Fish license section manager.

Annual licenses also make great and affordable gifts. An annual fishing license for a non-resident is $92, and a non-resident combination small game and bird license is $72.  Resident annual fishing licenses are only $24. A resident small game or bird license is $16 separately, but the combination is $24. All annual licenses require the purchase of an annual conservation stamp for the year for $12.50.

Annual licenses can be purchased on the Game and Fish website; lifetime licenses must be applied for at a Game and Fish office.

If your graduate loves the outdoors, reading, and wildlife photography, consider a gift subscription to Wyoming Wildlife magazine. Wyoming Wildlife is published 12 times a year for anglers, hunters and wildlife enthusiasts. With pages full of incredible photography and stories about wildlife, a subscription gives the gift of exploring Wyoming and all of its wild things and wild places. Learn about Wyoming’s rare animals, unique experiences, and Game and Fish’s projects.

“At $12.95 for 12 issues, it’s one of the most affordable ways to enjoy Wyoming’s wildlife year-round  and it’s the gift that keeps giving!” said Amy Bulger, Wyoming Wildlife editor. Give a gift subscription easily online.
