Game and Fish Commission to meet in Cody
The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission’s next meeting is March 20-22 in Cody. The meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn, 1701 Sheridan Avenue. The public is invited to attend and provide input on important topics.

March 20 is new commissioner orientation. There will be no official agency business conducted, or decisions made during this orientation but it is open to the public. Beginning on March 21, the Commission will be asked to vote to for preliminary approval on the commission’s fiscal year 2020 budget and approval on changes to Chapter 31, which deals with regulation governing authorized licensing agents. The Commission will also hear informational presentations on chronic wasting disease, proposed research to investigate predation patterns on elk and livestock, current research and monitoring efforts of large carnivores, a legislative update, an overview of winter impacts on wildlife and an update on the department’s work with migration corridors. The public will have a chance to comment on each specific agenda item and they can speak to the Commission about any matter at the end of the day; an agenda can be found on the Commission webpage. The meeting will be live-streamed on the internet. Learn more and watch online.

The public is also invited to an open house beginning 5 p.m. on March 21, hosted by Rocky Mountain Discount Sports, with the Commission and Game and Fish. The open house will be at the Cody Auditorium, 1240 Beck Avenue. Youth guests are encouraged to attend. Youth who meet residency requirements and are at least ten years of age will have the opportunity to win lifetime small game, bird and fishing licenses. Youth must be present at the time of the drawing to win.
