Deadline approaches to apply for permission slips for some Hunter Management areas
Deadlines to obtain permits or apply for drawings can vary with the different HMA areas. Some areas have unlimited permits available while others are limited and are available only via drawing. Details on application deadlines for various hunt areas and the procedure for obtaining permission slips is on the Game and Fish website wgfd.wyo.gov.
Hunter Management Areas are parcels of land where the Wyoming Game and Fish Department facilitates management of hunters for access to hunt. The area may refer solely to private lands or a combination of private, state trust land and federal land within ranch boundaries. All hunters who wish to hunt these access areas must obtain a printed permission slip. Prior to applying for an HMA permit, the hunter must possess a license for the area in which the HMA permit is valid. The hunter pays no fee for receiving permission for access for the specific times only. Hunters are asked to review the individual ranch rules for the hunt area of choice for additional information on the specific species, hunt area(s), and number of permission slips available. A listing of the Hunter Management Areas available for 2015 is posted on the Wyoming Game and Fish Department website. Hunters wanting more information on the HMA program can call (307) 777-4600.
