About the segment - The segment is entirely on BLM land. There are no diversions within the segment.

Rationale - Trail Ridge Creek is critical habitat for Colorado River Cutthroat Trout, a game fish species of greatest conservation need in Wyoming. This species was once widespread throughout the Upper Green River watershed, but habitat changes and non-native species have restricted it to about 13% of its native range in Wyoming. Securing an instream flow water right will maintain existing flow levels needed for spawning, passage, and year-round survival of Colorado River Cutthroat Trout in the Trail Ridge Creek instream flow segment.

Fishery -

How to get there - From Big Piney travel south on US 189 to WY-235 and turn right (west).  Travel about 10.8 miles to BLM road 5328 on the right.  Take that road about 4 miles to BLM road 5327 on the right.  After about 3.5 miles take the two-track road off to the right (sharp right turn) that leads down to the creek (the creek that you cross just before reaching Trail Ridge is Beaver Creek, which lies on private land). The downstream endpoint of the segment is about ¼ mile downstream at the boundary of BLM land and private property at the east line of the SWSW Quarter of Township 29N, Range 114W, Section 24. From that boundary, the segment extends upstream 4.23 miles to the upper extent of the Colorado River Cutthroat Trout population.
