On the grounds of the Dan Speas Fish Hatchery, The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission maintain a community-fishing pond. Wyoming Flycasters Memorial - Jessica’s Pond is an excellent resource for families, kids, the elderly, and handicapped individuals to catch fish and enjoy the Wyoming outdoors. Due to concerns about potential contamination from New Zealand mud snails, recently, the Department built a fence around the pond. From the parking area, anglers can access either the pond or the North Platte River. We ask all anglers to clean and dry all gear before going back and forth between the two areas. No dogs or pets allowed inside the fenced enclosure of the pond. However, they are welcome, if leashed, on the river portion of the access area. Amenities at Jessica’s Pond include a walking path, gazebo, and a handicap-accessible fishing pier. No hunting, trapping, camping, or fires allowed. WGFD does not plow the parking area in the winter.
