Wheatland Reservoir #3 PAA is located 18 miles northeast of Rock River on Palmer Canyon Road and Kite Ranch Road. The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission manages the areas through agreements with Wheatland Irrigation District and the BLM. There are 3 parking areas and almost 6 miles of lakeshore access, which fishermen can use to fish the almost 7,600-acre lake. The landscape is cold, semi-arid, shortgrass prairie and mostly comprised of private lands. The parking areas are developed with handicap accessible comfort stations and a boat ramp. The lake provides quality fishing year round for Cutthroat, Rainbow and Brown Trout, Walleye and multiple hunting opportunities. The canal from the headgate in Reservoir #2 to the mouth in Reservoir #3 is closed to fishing throughout the calendar year.
