The Salt River - Diversion Public Access Area (PAA) is located on Wyoming Game and Fish Commission owned land on the Salt River, 3 miles south of Thayne, Wyoming. The PAA is accessed from Whitetail Lane via Hwy 89, this PAA has a single parking area. This PAA provides parking for fishing and hunting access, camping is allowed for up to 5 days. Fishing for Snake River Cutthroat, Brown, Rainbow Trout, and Mountain Whitefish is excellent on the Salt River. The Salt River - Diversion does have a primitive boat launch. In the riparian areas along the river, moose, White-tailed deer, and Mule deer are common. The access road and parking area are not plowed during the winter season.
