The Historical Park Public Access Area (PAA) provides parking and restroom facilities for walk-in fishing at the Sublette County Historical Society’s Lander Trail New Fork River Crossing. The 50’ fishing only easement is from the river’s centerline spanning the Historical Park property. The New Fork river hosts a variety of fish including Rainbow trout, Brown trout, Mountain Whitefish, and an occasional Snake River Cutthroat trout. The riparian corridor hosts moose, deer, and a variety of small game animals and waterfowl. The parking area is located 11 miles south of Pinedale WY on Paradise Rd. Travel south on Paradise Rd 13.3 miles to the parking area. The PAA also provides a rare opportunity to experience immigrant life at the river crossing on the Lander Trail. The parking area is not plowed and is closed during the winter season.
