The Daniel Fish Hatchery Public Access Area (PAA) provides fishing access along Forty Rod Creek where anglers can pursue Brook, Brown, Rainbow trout and Mountain Whitefish. Due to AIS concerns, anglers should use the fishing access parking area on top of the hill overlooking the hatchery and not the hatchery parking area. There are no boat launch facilities at the Daniel Fish Hatchery PAA. The parking area sits on top of the hill just after the hatchery entrance on Pape Rd (Sublette County Rd 23-150) 13 miles northwest of Pinedale, WY on Hwy 191. The Daniel Fish Hatchery invites you to stop in and explore one of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department's 10 fish hatcheries and rearing stations. The hatchery, originally constructed in 1918, houses a Colorado River Cutthroat trout broodstock and rears various species of trout which include; Brook, Brown, Cutthroat, Golden, and Lake trout, as well as Splake, Tiger trout, and Kokanee Salmon. The hatchery is open daily from 8am to 5pm.
