The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission hold several easements on private lands for access roads, parking areas, and a 50’ pedestrian fishing on North Platte River – South Douglas Public Access Area. This area is three miles south of Douglas on Wyoming Highway 94. There are seven parking areas and almost 11 miles of river access for fishing. The parking areas may have either a modern or a primitive comfort station. Three parking areas have no comfort station. The river provides quality fishing year-round for catfish. No hunting, trapping, camping, or fires allowed. All pets must be on a leash. The areas are open from sunrise to sunset. WGFD does not plow the access road and parking area in the winter.
