Approximately 16 miles southeast of Douglas between I-25 and US Highway 18/20, and just off Wyoming Highway 319, the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission hold an easement on Department of Transportation right-of-way for an access road, parking area, and a primitive boat ramp on lands located between the highway and the BNSF railroad. WGFD recommends taking out at this access point before floating into the upper reaches of Glendo Reservoir. There is a water flow measurement structure located in the North Platte River approximately 2,500 feet downstream of the North Platte River – Orin Junction Bridge Public Access Area. There is a low flow notch through the structure near the right bank of the river. No hunting, trapping, camping, or fires allowed. WGFD does not plow the access road and parking area in the winter.
