Fort Steele/Rochelle is located 14 miles east of Rawlins on Carbon County Road 347. This area is managed through a cooperative agreement between the Wyoming Game & Fish Commission and private landowners. Pedestrian access is provided by easements extending from midstream of the stream outward 50’ above the high water line. There are 12 parking areas and almost 9 miles of river access for fishing. The parking area at Interstate 80 has a developed ramp all other ramps are primitive. One outhouse is present at the parking area at the end of County Road 347. The river provides quality fishing year round for brown and rainbow trout and waterfowl hunting opportunities.
